Jon Burgerman's Tumblr Girls

Picture of a Tumblr girl standing in front of many pictures of Tumblr girls, probably should've posted this on Tumblr for the girls.
If you're one of those people who go to the beach to ogle the ladies* but don't like the feel of sand against your skin then I've got just the thing for you. The place in question isn't actually on the shoreline - Beach London is an art space just off Brick Lane and it's currently full to the brim of Jon Burgerman's illustrations of cool womenfolk. Although only one room large, it's easily my favourite gallery in the city as the work on display is always simultaneously funny and aesthetically pleasing.

The cat on her right shoulder really speaks to me. No honestly, he won't shut up.
The above drawing was probably my favourite, firstly due to the cats but also because her lack of bodily detail gives off spooky ghost vibes. 'Tumblr Girls' ends April 26th so you still have ages to pop in but if you're not going to be in London any time soon then luckily for you he has posted some on Tumblr itself.

*Please don't actually ogle the ladies, nobody likes that guy.

Lazy Oaf x Miista Sample Sale

Happy Shoppers
It appears that I've summoned the sunshine by pre-emptively buying this Summery pineapple print dress yesterday at the Lazy Oaf & Miista shoes sample sale. My pals and I braved the chill and after being lied to a couple of times by Google Maps, we eventually made it to Dalston Pier.

Puss in Boobs
The dress is slightly too tight but that's probably due to my post-Winter pudge but I was pining over this particular print for nearly a year now so I thought I'd better be safe than sorry, I can always layer it with dungarees or a skater skirt for a couple of months. The shoes are a tiny bit scuffed but after covering the marks on the heel with nail varnish they look brand new and I'm planning on wearing them out tonight. Luckily I managed to leave the sale with my bank account still intact as altogether they only came to £20!

Walkies

This dog is a bit strange looking
Everyone meet my new roommate -  Zebedee. She's fluffy, pastel coloured and this morning she woke me up by jumping into bed next to me and sniffing my face. I'm looking after her for a friend who is currently working in China for a month. The weather was pretty mild the other day so I took her out for a walk wearing my finest 101 Dalmatian dungarees.

Shouts to Helena Vieira for taking photos.

Cruella vibes
On a slightly similar note, I spotted (hurr hurr) this reversible* pastel blue and dalmatian print two piece outfit from Isolated Heroes' Spring collection and it's as though Cruella DeVille and a human embodiment of Tumblr have procreated in the form of clothes. I have never been more in love with an outfit in my life.

*edit: It's not reversible! They just come in two different styles. This is making it all the more difficult to choose one haha!

Mum's The Word

The one on the right literally gave birth to me
To celebrate Mothers Day this year - Beyond Retro have invited me to recreate a photograph of my Mum when she was younger. I did my best to recreate this all white everything look before stepping into my time machine to travel back to the eighties.

All clothes loaned from the Beyond Retro near Brick Lane. Massive thanks to Helena Vieira for taking these photos.

Here's the tape we were listening to on the way back in the time machine - it's of all my favourite eighties pop ladies.

Best of AW14 Fashion Month

Fashion month is finally over so it's time to quit sobbing into my bank account and do something productive with my life. Before doing that though I wanna show you six favourite looks from each city. Originally it was going to be just five from each but I couldn't squeeze everything in - there were too many wonderful outfits!

New York

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Calla, Karen Walker, Vfiles, Tanya Taylor, Clover Canyon
New York fashion week somehow seems like it was thirty thousand years ago and also just yesterday at the same time. The highlight was seeing rapper babe Angel Haze strut her stuff at the DKNY show.

London

Holly Fulton, Matthew Williamson, Marios Schwab, Ashish, Meadham Kirchhoff, Louise Alsop
Ashish delivered my favourite show this year as the models looked like pixie princesses on a casual day at home in the cloud palace. I need to start saving my pennies up as the light-up Buffalo platforms they were wearing will be available in Topshop sometime soon.

Milan

Moschino, No. 21, Fausto Puglisi, Gucci, Emporio Armani, Dsquared
The McDonalds inspired Moschino looks this year were incredible - I'd love to get my hands on one of the happy meal handbags but I'd have to look into selling a kidney in order to do so. Next time you're in Maccy D's scour the bins for a discarded box and attach it to some string for a #DIY #highfashion #accessory

Paris

Miu Miu, Maxime Simoëns, Christian Dior, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Olympia Le-Tan
Paris fashion week was definitely the most difficult to filter down to just six looks - there were too many amazing colours, textures and silhouettes. I'm feeling a bit sad now that it's all over but the SS15 shows later on in the year will be spectacular.

February Favourites

Hey - I know it's technically the first of March but I felt like I couldn't publish this whilst it was still February just in case something amazing popped up at the last minute.

Penelope Gazin's Illustrations

See more here.
Penelope became one of my favourite illustrators pretty much the second I saw her grungey and humourous style. She's previously made work for VICE and FOXADHD.

Holly Falconer's 'FANGIRLS' for Diva Magazine

If you follow me on Twitter - you would've seen me retweet this photo series a couple of times. I love how you just know who the models are supposed to be portraying from a quick glance.

 MEAT Clothing's AW14 Video

Everything MEAT does is on point - including this new video for their AW14 range. They make me wish that all my clothes were made of latex.

Charlotte Rutherford for mysuperheromag.com

See the rest here.
Originally I was going to post Charlotte's music headshot series but then I saw this series and my eyeballs nearly fell out my head. This was my favourite shot of the lot as she's bringing out the space outlaw vibes.

Eleanor Hardwick's 'Hothouse Flower' for Rookie

See the rest here
I went beserk when I saw Yasmine tagged in these photos on Facebook - she looks absolutely amazing and I wouldn't be surprised if she was secretly a moth all along. Eleanor Hardwick's photos are perfect and I know from experience that she's a great photographer to work with.

First Dates with Hatti Rex and Paul Kindersley

Ironically this was actually the first time I had ever met Paul in person so it literally was our first date, so to speak. I know it's a bit cheeky to put something I've made in my favourites list but I really do love it. Click through to watch part two.

Lazy Oaf Store Reopening

I thought taking photos would make the queue go quicker.
Queueing isn't really anyone's favourite thing to be doing on a weeknight - or ever- but when the new Lazy Oaf garms are at the other end along with goodie bags and complimentary prosecco I'm not going to complain.
Picture nabbed from the Lazy Oaf instagram.
This was the dress my heart was set on grabbing at the launch but it turns out that 1, it's actually a top and skirt set and 2, it's not being stocked until Summer. I probably should've emailed ahead and asked before becoming obsessed with it and planning shoots around it in my head. Pretty sure that's not normal behaviour.

Look how cool everything is!
=^._.^=
This sheer jacket is nice.
Anna luvs clothes 4eva
Shouts to my friend Anna - she's the junior print designer at Bill + Mar who recently got their designs stocked in the Oxford Street Topshop. She has worked very hard and I'm very proud of her. I bumped into her at the tube station and convinced her to come along with us.

Dat hat
Friendly chap
As always, the prints were friendly and fun - I especially liked this happy chap. I love how the bold black lines contrast against the bright materials.

Nerd alert
Here I am - looking like a twelve year old on school picture day on the Lazy Oaf stairs. School photos would be a godzillion times better if the backdrops were this cool.

Telecommunication device wraps and foot sacks
Unfortunately "never for money" seems to be the phrase I constantly tell my Mum whenever she asks how much I'm getting paid for my creative endeavours. She isn't pleased. Also kudos to anyone who manages to have a food related iPhone case without feeling constantly peckish.

After battling our way out of the crowd we decided to grab some Korean food at BiBimBap, play Lords of War at Loading Bar and obsess over Miley.
