Ghost of Xmas Present

Maisy under last year's tree =^.__.^=
'Tis the season to be bored because everyone's doing family-related stuff. Don't get me wrong - I love coming back to my hometown to see my cat and raid the fridge, but other than that home is definitely not sweet.

If I wasn't constantly giving off Scrooge-vibes this would be how my perfect Christmas day would go down:

My pastel Christmas tree would be up and decorated with Slayer themed baubles and I'd be stuffing my face with chocolate whilst watching the Most Haunted Christmas Special DVD in my limited edition pink dinosaur kigu.

For those of you who actually enjoy the festive season -- Merry Christmas! Have a good one.

  • Windows 95 shorts from O-Mighty, approx
  • Windows 95 backpack from O-Mighty, approx £42

And if you're feeling like you want your irl space to look like your online space, you could always invest in some glitch-art inspired throw pillows.

Slacking Off

Front window display featuring two illuminated side-portraits
On the walk back home from my slack-free internship yesterday, I stopped off at the Old Truman Brewery to ogle at Stevie Gee's motorbike-inspired solo show. His drawing style is fun and I love his use of colour, but my personal favourite was the customised actual-real-life motorbike illustrated with a cat-head on the most perfect gradient I've ever seen. If I ever have a mid-life crisis, it's the bike I'm going to get.

Gift shop featuring prints, tees, beanies, patches and zines. The cat shirt was so good!

Sophie checking out some artwork
Framed screen-prints
If reincarnation is a thing I want to come back as this bike because it's the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life
Could someone please get me the pink helmet? I promise to wear it all the time, even to the supermarket or in the shower.
Mr. Gee was there himself, he gave us these stickers and wrote his website on the back in pencil.
Shouts to Nick for alerting us to this show on his instagram.

As Punk as You Can Be Whilst Surrounded By Soap

Punk pals: my flatmate Tom, and my friend Ariana who works at LUSH.
As someone who enjoys baths and likes to buy good quality products that are cruelty free, I've always turned to LUSH for cosmetics and gifts. To celebrate the launch of Vivienne Westwood's line of eco-friendly scarves made in conjunction with the brand, the Regent Street branch threw a Punk Day. Or, as I'd like to call it, As-Punk-As-You-Can-Be-Whilst-Surrounded-By-Soap-Day.

Very squishy shower jellies!
I want everything in my life to smell like Snow Fairy.
These deformed penguins are bath bombs! Felt sorry for the one in the pic by itself, he had no beak and looked sad.
I dunno who this guy was, apparently he was in some indie band in the mid-naughties. Definitely wasn't punk but seemed nice enough, he gave me a mince pie. Unsure whether I like mince pies.
From the picture above, you can sort of make out a couple of the Vivienne Westwood scarves on the right of the guitar-man. The guitar-man, as you can tell, is not punk at all. In fact, the only punk thing about the day was the Sex Pistols poster behind him that had the word 'bollocks' censored, which in itself is a not very punk thing to do.  Despite this, I had a good couple of hours of fun and the shop smelt really tasty.

Some of the goodies I took home with me, notice I adopted the sad penguin.
Also we got given goodie bags so expect some product reviews in the near future.

Bleached Brows

Bleached brow babes
On Saturday morning I sleepily walked into into CNG Derby thinking I was going to get my roots done and my fringe trimmed. Two coffees later I convinced my hair colourist and friend Emma that bleaching my eyebrows would be a good idea, so we went for it.

Bleach and toner, defs think foil-brows should be a thing...
Probably wouldn't try this by myself at home just in case I dripped bleach into my eye and blinded myself.

Before and after on CNG's isntagram

I really like how it's turned out and I'm super excited to try out crazy eyebrow colours but will probably dye them back dark when they start to grow out.

Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop

Today the new Meadham Kirchhoff collection for Topshop was released! The collection is based on an imaginary four piece girl band, The Cherrys, who each have their own signature style. Obviously each item is cutesy and kitsch, because Meadham Kirchhoff, and a lot of the stuff draws inspiration from the 1970's. It's as though the designers watched The Runaways and then were left to their own devices.

Of course the item I wanted most (the red heart pinafore on the left) was sold out by the time I checked the website this morning, not that I could afford it anyway, but I decided to mock up what I'd like most from the collection and how I'd style them if every item of clothing I'd ever wanted was suddenly at my fingertips.

Booth Babery at Warped UK

We had to test the camera was working, obviously.
We had to test it more than once,  obviously.
Last weekend at Warped Tour, rapper Watsky stupidly stage-dived off some light rigging hurting both himself and some of the crowd. The day before this, me and Sophie were there running the photo booth. Highlights from the day include taking many selfies, having Zoe LDN come over to have photos taken whilst filming for Big Deal Clothing, some girls in our booth with The Maine and possibly making their life and going making use of our staff pass and having free unlimited jägerbombs backstage amongst bands we haven't even heard of.

By the end of the day I'd probably tried every single prop on

10.55 Vth Anniversary Party

The only non blurry photo I managed to get of the after party.
To commemorate 10.55's fifth year of existence, FiftyFiveDsl threw a celebratory exhibition of the new limited edition t-shirt designs in Shoreditch.

The FiftyFiveDsl brand began it's journey as an experimental streetwear line for Diesel, getting it's name from the original line being composed of fifty five designs. The current creative director is actually the founder of Diesel's son, Andrea Rosso.

Gavin Watson standing proudly in front of his work.

Rosso himself was at both the exhibition and the after party. As was photographer, Gavin Watson, who created the image for my favourite design in the new collection of the boy in Mickey Mouse ears throwing the v-sign. I didn't get a chance to speak to Rosso but Watson was very friendly and told me he liked my boots and that they were apparently "the first thing he noticed as he entered the room".

Nic Tasker doing what he does best.

At the exhibition itself, there were framed t-shirts from the new collection on the walls but I was mostly distracted by the projector that screened designs onto blank a blank t-shirt, possibly because the picture changed every few seconds and I'm easily amused.

Crystal Head vodka was free of charge at the after party and I definitely felt like my head had turned into a crystal ready to shatter the next morning.

Grown-up versions of children's party bags; a tote bag filled with free stuff.
